There’s a foundation called Terra Sativa that is working with the local Colombian people in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in a small town called Minca. They are currently rebuilding two plantations and teaching the locals how to grow organic produce such as Coffee Beans, Avacados, Mangos, etc and how to run their own business for the future in an environmentally friendly way. They have taken on a tremendous task and are always looking for support.
If you use facebook you can view photos and watch the progress they have made. The photos depict the story from the beginning and are captioned in both Spanish and English. They are developing a small ecological school there as well for the children to learn about their environment. Everyone is welcome to become a “friend” with them and see the happenings of the foundation. FB address is: terra_sativa@yahoo.com
